The Art Center Silkeborg Bad never stands still. Here you can experience changing exhibitions of both Danish and international artists, who time after time transform the old spa "Silkeborg Bad" into an inspiring museum filled with surprises. Outside in the beautiful Sculpture Park you can visit our large sculpture collection.

The museum strives to emphasize contemporary artists, thus creating an exciting mix of contemporary and contemporary mixed with the old historical soul of the building. The Art Center also provides a framework for various concerts, lectures and activities for young and old. 

History

Historically, Silkeborg Bad is the oldest water facility in Silkeborg. It opened in 1883 and served until 1983. The watercourse was brought here because of the iron-containing water of Arnakkekilden, which flows into Ørnsø and is also drained by Carlsberg for their mineral products. Today, the bathing center is a major tourist attraction and an obvious visit if you are in Silkeborg or just need an artistic and cultural retreat in everyday life.
