The site is located a bit inside the forest. Jenle Plantation, together with the neighbouring plantation Søttrup, forms an approximately 200 hectare recreational area. Both plantations are the result of intensive efforts to combat the widespread sand drift in the open Himmerland heathlands by planting. Conifers are still dominant, but in recent years more deciduous forest has been planted in both forests and open plains have been created as permanent clearings in the forest. At the nature base there are marked routes for both day and night levels. For the routes, various activity sheets have been prepared that are based on play and learning for all generations.

Jenle Plantation is looked after by the Nature Agency Himmerland, while the neighbouring plantation Søttrup is currently owned by Sparekassen Himmerland.
